Tello Mobile New Era: New GSM network, same unbeatable plans
Starting January 2021, Tello Mobile, the most flexible US MVNO, is enrolling customers into their new GSM network.
Tello, already a darling of flexibility and customer service, increases access to their affordable pay as you go phone plans to anyone with a compatible phone.
Aligning with the industry trends of next generation VoLTE, Tello Mobile’s service will migrate from a CDMA to a GSM network, with improved 4G LTE coverage, faster data speeds, and a super-stable network.
All plan rates stay the same, like, for example, the competition-crushing unlimited talk & text+2GB of data for only $14/month. Tello continues their absolutely no fees policy, and is committed to full transparency during the migration process.
How will this change affect Tello current customers?
Although the existing CDMA network will still be supported until at least June 2021, the current customers will begin to migrate from the CDMA network to the new GSM network in the first quarter of 2021.
The migration will be smooth and easy, organised in batches, and the customers will be guided through the process with personalised information, tools and dedicated support.
Current customers will fall into one of the following categories:
All customers will be able to get the new Tello branded GSM SIMs for free and change the network while keeping their number and device. Their billing and plans will not be affected in any way.
Customers with phones that are not compatible with the new GSM network – Tello Mobile will offer them multiple opportunities to upgrade their phone and change gears
What changes for New Customers?
In a nutshell, nothing. New customers who want to join Tello will be onboarded directly to the new network, having all the benefits of the improved coverage from the get-go, in addition to the super affordable pricing, flexibility and amazing features.
New customers will need to buy a new Tello branded SIM when they first join, and activate the service according to Tello instructions.
