Tello Mobile reveals the new savings era: Major price drop alert!
You heard it right. We did it. Once again!
Tello Mobile is starting a new savings era with HUGE upgrades to the most flexible plans in the US.
Let us tell you the short story straight from the beginning: We increased the data to all of our phone plans so that you’ll get more for less, from now on.
This upgrade is here for FREE and it applies to aaaall Tello customers, existing and new ones.
Why are we doing this? Because we want to make top-notch telecom services accessible to everyone. And we really mean it. We also believe that you can get the best of both worlds: flexibility and affordability. As the masters of this combo, join us in welcoming this MAJOR price drop and see everything you need to know below.
🚀 We’ll start with the superstar of them all, the Unlimited plan.
Its new price is now just $25/month and will bring you 35 GB of high-speed data. And wait, there’s more! From now on, you’ll also have increased throttling speed for the Unlimited Data plan.
🚀 We’re saying hello to a brand-new plan: the 15 GB one, coming at $24/month.
And there are plenty of options for those of you who use less data, but still need to stay connected:
🚀 We’re waving goodbye to our 500 MB plan, as it will be replaced by the 1 GB, at the same price.
🚀 Also, we’ve decreased the prices of your beloved 2 GB and 5 GB plans!
Since our goal is to make the BEST of your experience we’ve just added more full-speed data to our most frugal options. Which you can enjoy from now on. For good! Therefore, it’s time to say goodbye to the 64 kbps throttling speeds on all limited data plans.
In terms of features, we’re committed to bringing you the full experience you have been enjoying so far.

Best phone plan that I’ve ever had, and I have had cell phone service from other places for 30 years which means I’ve experienced all kinds of problems and also amazed at the upgrades and technology.Tello has surpassed any plan that I’ve ever encountered! I hope this company keeps on going!
We appreciate your kind words, Ken!
Thank you very much for choosing Tello!
Is there any change in the 5GB Hotspot limit for the new Unlimited Plan?
The hotspot available for the unlimited plan will still be 5GB, only the amount before throttle was increased from 25GB to 35GBs.
“Therefore, it’s time to say goodbye to the 64 kbps throttling speeds on all limited data plans.” :
What happens to the limited data plans after data allocation is used up ? Is there a new slower speed access or data is completely cut off ?
Unfortunately, there is no slow speed after the data was consumed.
We doubled the amount of data we offer, but cut off the throttling speed. Now you can enjoy more data at the same price without having to worry about throttling speed.
In reality i would prefer the way it was before. I would use my high speed data fairly quickly since i only paid for 500mb but then i used frogfind to be able to still look things up and it was really nice. I suspect this so called upgrade is really trying to save money on your part by removing that unlimited slow data. I am dissapointed, but i get it. After all you are a company trying to make a profit, can’t really blame you. I just wish you had kept the less high speed data because i would actually prefer unlimited slow data in comparison to 1gb of fast data, which i have already used up… And now my only option is to pay more if i want more data or wait till it renews. I think you should have been more transparent about it like i want to know what’s really happening not have to look for some blog post to find out. I suspected you didn’t do this upgrade because you love your customers as you would have us believe, but really to save money. I did use more than half my monthly data on the throttled plan so haha i was kind of cheating the system a little. But i guess tello noticed or something. Well yeah i don’t like it but so be it.
Please note that your device should have a “low data mode” feature, allowing you to use less data or operate at lower speeds. Additionally, after surpassing 500MB of data, you can manually switch the network to 2G/3G (if available). This provides a way to conserve data usage when not essential.
If you would like more information in regards to this features, or tips&tricks to use less data, feel free to contact our Customer Support Team.
I agree with you Issac, more transparency was needed. Some how my phone used cellular data instead of wifi connection to update. Guess who doesn’t have data? Me! No warning or anything, in the house of WiFi. Anywho, iMessage uses cellular data. I won’t be able to get or send MMS messages until I renew or purchase data add on. Have had this service for over 5 years and the things that brought me to it, are now forcing me to find other solutions. Who cares if they “doubled” the data, if you don’t have data when you need it. I was fine with my 1GB of data that I seldom went over. In a crunch, iMessage still worked.
I came online to find solutions for not getting MMS messages. Found this post, trying to determine the cost of adding data. It isn’t listed clearly and the customer is in the dark behind changes made. Don’t like it, understand the company needs to be profitable to continue but good grief, don’t hide the plain truth of services being rendered.
This reeks of bait-and-switch.
Cutting off the fallback to low-speed data is a MAJOR downgrade and turn-off.
Burying in a blog that Tello turd is despicable.
Just more proof that the telecommunications industry never should have been deregulated.
Yep, I’m leavin Tello now because of the lost of the throttling. We had 1 gb of data and hen it throttled. I was perfect for a teen when we needed to locate his phone. I don’t want him to have unlimited data or 5+ gb of data. Heading over to Mint mobile for the same price and it has no hard cap.
Tell you disappoint me, I use to pitch your service to lots of parents and got referrals. I won’t be doing that now.
Goodbye.
We are sorry to hear this.
But if you previously had the 1GB plan, now you got 2GB at the same price, so the amount was doubled.
Now, if you want to use less data, after using 1GB let’s say, you do have the option to set your phone to low data mode, this way, you’re basically using the remaining 1GB at 2G speed with the possibility to increase it at any time.
This is truly amazing news. I’ve had Tello since July of last year after I was forced to switch from another company after my phone was no longer compatible with their service. I had been with them for 8 years.
I am so happy I was forced to switch because not only is Tello just a better service all around, it also ended up being a much cheaper one as well .I just love how flexible the plans are and the best feature among many.
I started off with the unlimited 1 GB plan but now do the 1O GB plan because it’s cheap enough and worth it. Now it’s even cheaper! I don’t plan to ever switch to another when this one is so flexible and cheap.
Thanks!
Wow!
Thank you very much for sharing this with us! We are happy to see you’re happy with our service!
For the unlimited data plan, it looks like you’ve reduced the hotspot data from 25GB to 5GB. Is that accurate?
The unlimited plan always had a 5GB hotspot limit.
At this point, we increased the amount from 25GB to 35GB at 4G/ 5G speed and we kept the 5GB limit for hotspot.
If I have a 2gb plan for which I pay $12, then next month will my plan automatically become 5gb or will it be the same but for a new price at $10?
For your plan, the amount of data has been increased.
Therefore, you will pay the same, but you’ll have more GBs available.
What towers does this company run off of??
Appreciate the increase in data for a decreased price!! The only thing the in the US going down in price!! Thanks again!
My mistake for reading comments instead of all the way through the blog. Increased throttling speed after 35gb.
Now, how about bringing back the $10/90 day refill credit for Pay As You Go? For light users, the $20 refill is far too much. I’d rather Tello increased the per minute, text and MB rates and keep the $10 refill than force use of the $20 refill, win/win.
Please be advised that instead of PAYG, you can also choose our $5/ mo plan for basic needs.
Would be nice for those on the $25 unlimited plan to get free spotify premium perk.
Hi Michael! Thank you for your suggestion. Our focus now is on bringing our customers fair prices for a reliable wireless service.
Well, probably would think people would be saving if they got the perk with it. Isn’t things like this bring people into premium service with perks?
