I want to join Tello. What should I do next?
You would think that the toughest decisions in the world include family members, marriage, kids, mortgage, or health related issues. Still… how much time do you actually need to make a decision on these matters? 5 minutes? 1 hour? 1 week?
Now think about how much time you spent deciding to switch mobile networks. You were stuck in a 1 or 2 year contract and when you were finally free to leave, you stayed for one more year because you simply couldn’t decide if there was anything better out there. So, NO, it’s not fair! The world of wireless networks and their constant battle for supremacy take its toll on you… the customer.
And when you’ve finally had enough, you decide to switch operators and you’re interested to join Tello. And now the fun part starts!
What should you do?
Where do you have to start?
Can you keep your old number?
Can you bring your own phone? Do you need a CDMA card?
Better yet, what’s a CDMA card?
STOP! We can help.
Here are a few steps any new customer should follow in order to enjoy a smooth transition to Tello.
- If you want to start off with a plan, you need to add as many minutes, texts, and data you think you’ll need for the next 30 days. No worries, you can always change it later by upgrading or downgrading your plan options.
- If Pay As You Go is what you need, you should simply select a value. Remember, with Pay As You Go credit you can call both US and international destinations. There’s no limit! You only need to check the rate/min for each country you’re calling. And, yes, if you’re wondering you can also use Data from the PAYG balance. Still, if you’re a heavy user, we advise you to go for a plan that will offer you better rates per MB.
Both are valid options and there’s no reason to give up your old phone just because you’re changing networks.
- Any CDMA unlocked phone or Sprint-ready device can join Tello. If you have one, then you’re safe. The process will run smoothly. There are also a lot of new devices ready to join Tello. We covered all this in our tutorial “Is your phone ready to join Tello?“, so if you have questions, give it a try!
- Besides the bring your own phone option we offer, we also provide a handpicked list of phones. They are either new or refurbished, as shown on the description page and can be brought to Tello in the blink of an eye.
Let’s say you went through to checkout, finalized the order and submitted the payment. Now what? Now you have to activate your phone (old phone or new phone, once you get it in the mail).
You see, it wasn’t that bad after all! And here’s even better news: our friendly, human, responsive Customer Service is available 24/7 and can answer any question you may have.
They can even guide you through, step by step.
